It's all too easy to get caught up in the sewing of outerwear but what about underwear? If I'm going to be able to wear fully handmade with nothing new being shop bought, I'm going to need undies! So, when a tester call for a variety of styles came out from Little Finch Designs*, I jumped on board and started busting through my scraps pile! There are 2 styles included in this first pattern bundle with another 2 styles in testing for release in a couple of weeks and I'm sure you're pleased to hear these won't be shown as modelled photos, I'm not sure anyone wants to see that!! Pattern DetailsThe 'Hippies' and 'Foxys'* come as one 18 page PDF file. The file includes Letter and A4 pages in together so be sure to choose the right ones for your printer! There are just 3 pages needing printed for each style or 5 for both with just 1 page needing to be taped to another! The band sizes are given in a measurement chart. It is sized from US2-3X (34"-50.75" hip). Each size has it's own colour line but they are all the same style so it can be a little tricky to cut out if you print in black and white only. It is designed for knitted fabrics with elastane content 95/5% is recommended and it says half a yard is needed but I think you would get a couple of pairs out of that! The instructions include photographs for each step. The 'Hippies' are fuller bottom coverage, lower leg cut with a slightly higher rise and the 'Foxys' are a bikini style. My Versions!I made the size 2 and as you can see from the photos I've made several of these undies {and I'm only showing the matching ones!) all made using scraps from previous projects. The stripes and plain pink were 95/5% cotton lycra, the floral is a rayon jersey again with 5% elastane. I made slightly thinner bands on the floral with pink band Foxy's purely as I didn't have quite enough fabric to get the pattern spec out of it! Everything else was as per the pattern, straight from the final version. How do they fit? Both the styles fit well and as the style intends and are nice and comfy (hence me making several pairs!) You can see the difference between the styles from these photos below where I have lined the waistbands up. The Hippies are slightly higher rise, more bottom coverage and a lower leg cut at the front. Project CostFull Price Pattern - (£4.17) $5.99 - I received the pattern for free in return for testing it. Fabric Cost - £5 ($7.18) - my fabric was actually FREE as I used scraps but if I bought as per the pattern requirements Notions/Thread - 20p ($0.29) Total Cost - £9.37 ($13.45) FOR 4!! so just £2.35 ($3.37) EACH! Predicted future cost of each additional pair - £2 ($2.87) If you're quick and grab the pattern by 22nd April it's on sale for $3.99! (£2.78!)* The Verdict!I'm definitely going to be swapping out to these as and when I get fabric scraps from projects, they fit great and I can't wait for the next 2 styles to be released soon! I might play around and see if I can make some fully lined ones too, if I can get rid of seams, even if they are in store bought clothing just the same, I like to!

Thanks for posting these side to side. I just pasted together the pattern and plan to make both styles.
